The Clean Trust - Formerly The IICRC - Names Mili Washington the New Standards Director

The Clean Trust - formerly the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) - has announced that Mili Washington has been hired as the new Standards Director.

At The Clean Trust, Washington’s focus in the coming year will be to streamline the standards development process and strategy, work toward American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approval for new and revised ANSI/IICRC standards, and use more digital tools to make virtual collaboration come to life.

“We welcome Ms. Washington to The Clean Trust,” states The Clean Trust President Patrick Winters. “Her strong background with ANSI accredited standards development will continue to help The Clean Trust reach its goal of being recognized as developing the most credible, collaborative and up-to-date standards of care for our allied industries.”

For the past five years, Washington has focused her work in the area of standards development and management. In her previous role as manager of standards and guidelines for the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), she oversaw three ANSI accredited standards committees that developed 20 ANSI standards for the occupational health and safety profession. In addition, Washington managed the standards representatives to various national, ANSI and international standards developing committees. During her time at AIHA, Washington developed an excellent working relationship and rapport with the volunteer members who she came to rely on for their knowledge and expertise to provide ongoing guidance for their standards development work.

“I’m excited to be working with The Clean Trust. It’s a dynamic and exciting organization with a leading reputation in the cleaning and restoration industry,” said Washington.

Washington is a member of The Society for Standards Professionals (SES) and is certified as an Associate Standards Professional (AStD). She graduated with a Masters degree from George Washington University in Environmental and Resource Policy after completing a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delhi University in New Delhi, India.
